Population: 435 Hosston is a friendly little town located in northwest Louisiana on U.S Highway 71. It is primarily a farming community, but some of its residents commute to work in Shreveport and Vivian.

The old Hosston School built in 1901 is still standing. It is on the corner of Magnolia Street and Hosston River Road. It was a two-room school building that served all grades. The Hosston Cemetery at the end of Magnolia Street east of town has many old gravestones that date back to the early 1800s.
