Population: 2,000 The area extending east approximately 15 miles beyond Louisiana Downs along Highway 80 is called the Haughton area, but the town of Haughton is a much smaller area.

The Haughton corporate limits encompass an area in eastern Bossier Parish just southeast of Highway 80. As a general rule, if the street is named for a tree or president, it's within Haughton proper. The Haughton area constitutes a bedroom community of its larger neighbors, Bossier City and Minden.
