Population: 262 The village of Belcher has only one main street and a small business district that includes the post office, bank and a store. Founded in 1899 as "Horseshoe," Belcher is a quiet and friendly town with several beautiful old homes with interesting histories: · The old Victorian Belcher House at 407 Belcher St. was transported across the Red River by Mr. Belcher. · Dixie Plantation Home on Line Street, built in 1870, was the birthplace of internationally renowned artist and sculptor Clyde Connell. · Belcher Presbyterian Church on Gray Street is a century old.
